Congressman Morgan Luttrell, representing Texas’ 8th district since 2023, has recently addressed several issues through a series of tweets. Born in Houston in 1975 and currently residing in Magnolia, Luttrell holds a BS from Sam Houston State University. His social media activity reflects his commitment to national security and law enforcement support.
On May 14, 2025, Congressman Luttrell expressed concern over the challenges faced by Department of Homeland Security agents. He stated, “Our @DHSgov agents are confronting cartel criminals and terror suspects every day right here on American soil.” He emphasized the need for providing these agents with necessary weapons and mental health tools and mentioned his anticipation to collaborate with Secretary Noem on these matters.
Later that day, Luttrell commented on recent immigration enforcement actions in Houston. He reported that “ICE arrested 422 illegal immigrants in Houston — including suspects wanted for homicide, sex crimes, and drug trafficking.” He attributed this success to effective law enforcement operations.
On May 15, 2025, Luttrell highlighted his legislative efforts to support law enforcement officers. He noted the importance of enabling trained officers to handle threats effectively. In a tweet he shared that he voted for the LEOSA Reform Act to ensure that “qualified officers can carry and protect no matter where they are.”
Morgan Luttrell replaced Kevin Brady in Congress in 2023 after serving as a Navy SEAL. His legislative focus includes enhancing security measures and supporting law enforcement personnel across the United States.
