Congressman Morgan Luttrell, who represents Texas’ 8th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed issues related to airport security delays, praised a federal agency leader, and honored a Vietnam veteran through posts on his social media account.
On March 23, Luttrell alerted travelers about long wait times at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), writing: “Security wait times at @iah are reaching up to 4 HOURS right now due to Democrats’ DHS shutdown. Only 2 checkpoints are open. Plan accordingly and arrive EARLY — or you will miss your flight.”
The following day, on March 24, Luttrell expressed support for Markwayne Mullin’s leadership of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), stating: “Markwayne is the real deal. I’m proud to call him a friend and know @DHSgov is in great hands. Looking forward to the great things he’ll accomplish leading this agency.”
On March 25, Luttrell paid tribute to a military veteran from Texas: “Texas is proud of Dave Dillard and his heroic Vietnam service in the 101st Airborne Division.”
Morgan Luttrell has represented Texas’s 8th District in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Kevin Brady. He was born in Houston in 1975 and resides in Magnolia. Luttrell graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2000. In both the 2022 and 2024 general elections, he defeated Laura Jones with over two-thirds of the vote.
