Rep. Dan Crenshaw, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 2nd district, recently shared his thoughts on social media regarding current events and tragedies affecting the nation. Crenshaw, who succeeded Ted Poe in Congress in 2019, was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, and currently resides in Humble. He is known for his outspoken views and personal reflections on various issues.

On July 5, 2025, Crenshaw criticized a decision to engage with a foreign leader by stating: “Nothing screams July 4th like platforming the leader of a terror state that labels us ‘The Great Satan.'” This comment underscores his concern over diplomatic engagements perceived as contrary to national interests.

In another post dated July 6, 2025, he expressed deep sorrow over a tragic event in Texas: “The tragedy is central Texas is truly heartbreaking. I can’t imagine what it would be like to lose my daughter.” Crenshaw empathized with families affected by the ongoing disaster at Camp Mystic and along the Guadalupe River.

Later on the same day, Crenshaw highlighted acts of bravery amid the disaster: “There are inspiring – and humbling- stories of heroism from this horrible tragedy.” He specifically mentioned Dick Eastland’s sacrifice at Camp Mystic and the courage shown by counselors at Camp La Junta during life-threatening conditions.

Crenshaw graduated from Tufts University with a BA in 2006. His personal experiences often inform his public statements and engagement with constituents.
