U.S. Representative Dan Crenshaw, who has served multiple terms in Congress and recently secured re-election in 2024, posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing political controversies and promoting a local student leadership event.
On September 18, 2025, Crenshaw published a brief post, “Unhinged.” The following day, he extended an invitation to area students: “On Saturday, September 27th, high school students are invited to our 2nd annual Summit for Emerging American Leaders (“SEAL” – get it?) at the John Cooper School in the Woodlands. This year’s lineup includes a football legend, an astronaut, a billionaire entrepreneur, and elected” (September 19, 2025).
Later that same day, Crenshaw addressed comments made by an unnamed individual about the conservative movement and a recent shooting incident. He stated: “He was smearing the entire conservative movement by tying us to the shooter— a lie that was clearly baseless even before he said it the first time.
And he told Disney’s CEO he’d keep repeating it on air. Any responsible leader would’ve pulled the plug. Good move by Disney.” (September 19, 2025).
Crenshaw represents Texas’s 2nd congressional district and has maintained strong electoral support over several cycles. In the most recent general election of 2024, he defeated Peter Filler with approximately 65.7% of the vote to Filler’s 34.3%. In previous elections since his first win in 2018 against Todd Litton with just over half of the vote (52.8%), Crenshaw has consistently won by substantial margins against Democratic challengers.
