Representative Dan Crenshaw, a Republican member of Congress from Texas, posted several tweets in October 2025 addressing political violence and social commentary.

On October 10, 2025, Crenshaw criticized perceptions about Antifa by writing, “The Left : Antifa isn’t violent! Antifa: Let’s blind federal helicopter pilots with lasers so they crash.” The post appeared to challenge claims that the group is nonviolent by referencing alleged actions involving laser pointers directed at law enforcement.

Two days later, on October 12, 2025, Crenshaw shared another tweet containing only an emoji and a link: ” https://t.co/wGChJ8WlRG”. Later the same day, he commented on motivations for charitable acts with a quote: “It’s always so attractive to be able to do good at someone else’s expense”.

Crenshaw has held his congressional seat since winning his first election in 2018. He defeated Todd Litton that year with 52.8% of the vote. In subsequent elections he maintained strong majorities against Sima Ladjevardian in 2020 (55.6%), Robin Fulford in 2022 (65.9%), and Peter Filler in 2024 (65.7%).
