Rep. Dan Crenshaw, who represents Texas’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on July 23, 2025, focusing on legislation he introduced and responding to online content.

In his first tweet at 21:01 UTC, Crenshaw addressed concerns about violence against federal officers involved in immigration enforcement. He wrote, “Assaults on federal officers enforcing our immigration laws have become far too common.

That’s why I introduced the RIOT Act — to ensure strict, non-negotiable penalties for anyone who attacks the men and women protecting our country.

Details here “.

A subsequent tweet at 21:03 UTC contained only a link: “https://t.co/NthmDEvhwB”.

Later that evening at 21:33 UTC, Crenshaw commented on another post with a question and a lighthearted remark: “This actually explains a lot.

Also what is an uncontrolled fit of cheerfulness..? https://t.co/crV59x1vsV“.

Crenshaw has served as the U.S. Representative for Texas’s 2nd district since 2019 after succeeding Ted Poe. He was born in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1984 and currently resides in Humble. Crenshaw holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University, which he earned in 2006.
