Rep. Dan Crenshaw, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 2nd district since 2019, recently shared his views on several pressing issues via social media. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, and currently residing in Humble, Crenshaw has been vocal about conservative ideologies and policies affecting both national and local matters.
On March 24, 2025, Crenshaw reiterated a core aspect of conservative ideology regarding taxpayer-funded programs like SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). He stated that such programs “shouldn’t be used to buy soda and junk food.” He addressed a common counterargument by clarifying that while conservatives believe people can purchase what they wish with their own money, it should not apply when using taxpayer funds.
In another post on the same day, Crenshaw highlighted an opportunity to address issues related to the Mexican drug cartels. He emphasized that “we’ve got willing partners in Mexico” and support from former President Trump to dismantle these cartels. However, he expressed frustration over the lack of action from Congress despite the issue’s popularity.
Later that day, Crenshaw commented on economic developments within Texas. He noted that “Texas saw job growth across almost every private industry,” mentioning specific sectors such as construction, finance and business services, hospitality, and manufacturing. According to him, this represents “broad-based economic health.”
