Rep. Dan Crenshaw, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 2nd district, shared a series of tweets on September 18, 2024. The tweets expressed gratitude to law enforcement officers and addressed political discourse surrounding the upcoming election.

In his first tweet, Crenshaw highlighted the sacrifices made by police officers and their families. He stated: “We owe a huge debt of gratitude to all our officers, and their families, because everyday they put in their uniform to protect us they may not come home. A wife may lose a husband, children may lose a father.” He also thanked his colleagues for honoring Corporal Husseini.

On the same day, he tweeted about the tragic loss of life among police officers this year: “He lived a life of service to our community and made the ultimate sacrifice when he was murdered in cold blood, a horrific act that happens far too often. 58 police officers have been murdered this year alone.”

Later that day, Crenshaw criticized media narratives and political rhetoric concerning former President Trump and the election: “What’s it going to take for the media and left-wing politicians to quit turning this election into an existential crisis for the soul of America, calling Trump the greatest threat to democracy since the Civil War?”
