Rep. Dan Crenshaw, a U.S. Congressman who has secured victories in Texas congressional elections since 2018, recently used his social media platform to comment on topics ranging from economic policy to energy infrastructure.
On October 20, 2025, Crenshaw posted a tweet that can be accessed at this link.
The following day, October 21, 2025, he addressed economic policy related to housing in New York City, referencing mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani. Crenshaw wrote: “I know math is hard is hard for a guy who can’t bench 135, but let’s do a quick supply and demand lesson for socialist NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.
If you tax builders and developers more, they’ll build less or raise the price of housing. Dictate what landlords can https://t.co/I2paADjvRX“
Later on October 21, Crenshaw commented on energy policy and technology: “The truth that most people aren’t willing to swallow is that utility-scale battery storage is a massive waste of money in most cases. It’s better to invest in more baseload and dispatchable generation than battery storage, at least with current technology. There are innovations https://t.co/2L4WSB8vvE”
Crenshaw’s ongoing engagement with public policy issues comes after a series of electoral successes. In the 2024 general election, he defeated Peter Filler with 65.7% of the vote; previous victories include defeating Robin Fulford in 2022 with nearly the same percentage, Sima Ladjevardian in 2020 with over 55%, and Todd Litton in 2018 with just under 53%.
