Rep. Dan Crenshaw, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 2nd district, recently shared a series of tweets addressing issues related to journalism and international relations. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1984 and now residing in Humble, Crenshaw has been an active political figure since replacing Ted Poe in 2019.
On July 9, 2025, Rep. Crenshaw criticized the conduct of a journalist during an interview with the head of a state he referred to as a “terror state.” He emphasized that “Basic journalism” involves asking “basic” follow-up questions and addressing real issues, accusing Tucker Carlson of failing to challenge false claims about killing Americans and other serious allegations.
In another tweet on the same day, Crenshaw addressed comments made by Pezeshkian blaming Israel for harming diplomatic efforts. He countered this narrative by stating “Here’s reality: Iran armed terror groups across the region…” He highlighted actions taken by Iran such as plotting assassinations on U.S. soil and building nuclear sites while expressing hostility towards America.
Furthermore, Rep. Crenshaw called out Tucker Carlson for not responding adequately during an exchange where Pezeshkian questioned whether Iranians had ever killed Americans. In his tweet, Crenshaw noted that if Carlson had responded with integrity he would have acknowledged instances such as “1983: Hezbollah (Iran’s proxy) killed 241 U.S. Marines in Beirut”.
