Rep. Dan Crenshaw, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 2nd district, has been vocal on social media about his concerns regarding immigration policies and recent honors given to law enforcement officers. In a series of tweets, he addresses issues related to taxpayer-funded flights for migrants and commemorates a fallen officer.

On September 17, 2024, Rep. Crenshaw criticized the use of taxpayer dollars for flights from Central and Southern Mexico, stating that they are “flying hundreds of thousands of unvetted migrants into communities across America.” “use your taxpayer dollars to fund flights from Central and Southern Mexico, flying hundreds of thousands of unvetted migrants into communities across America.”

In another tweet posted on the same day, Crenshaw provided statistics about the number of migrants flown into the U.S., noting that “530,000 migrants have been flown into the U.S.” He expressed concern over ICE’s non-detained docket potentially reaching 8 million by year’s end and accused the current administration of having no intention to stop this flow. “So far, 530,000 migrants have been flown into the U.S. ICE’s non-detained docket is set to hit 8 million by year’s end. The truth is, the flow of unvetted migrants isn’t slowing down. And make no mistake, this administration has no intention of stopping it.”

On September 18, 2024, Rep. Crenshaw tweeted about honoring Harris County Constable Precinct 4 Corporal Maher Husseini with a moment of silence on the House floor. This gesture was made in recognition of Corporal Husseini’s service and sacrifice. “Tonight we honored Harris County Constable Precinct 4 Corporal Maher Husseini with a moment of silence on the House floor.”
