Representative Dan Crenshaw, a Republican congressman from Texas, posted a series of tweets in late September 2025 addressing topics including cancel culture, identity politics, and Planned Parenthood.

On September 22, 2025, Crenshaw commented on the distinction between cancel culture and accountability. He wrote: “Cancel culture is losing your job because someone dug up a cringey Facebook post from 2011– or something even dumber. Accountability is when you celebrate an assassination and people realize, ‘Yeah, maybe you shouldn’t be teaching kids.'”

The following day, on September 23, Crenshaw addressed the issue of identity politics and referenced Vice President Kamala Harris. He stated: “Fun when their own obsession with identity politics confronts political reality. Kamala exposes the fallacy of tokenism—in her words, you’re only valuable if the people who use your identity for leverage need your value at that moment. Otherwise you’re an obstacle. Identity ≠”

Later that same day, Crenshaw criticized Planned Parenthood in another tweet: “You know how Democrats love to say, ‘There’s so much more to Planned Parenthood than abortion!’ Apparently they weren’t totally lying. There’s also secrecy, indoctrination, and targeting impressionable kids with gender ideology & irreversible surgeries.”

Crenshaw has been a prominent figure in Texas politics since first being elected to Congress in 2018. He won his initial race against Todd Litton with 52.8% of the vote to Litton’s 45.6%. In subsequent elections he maintained strong leads over his opponents: defeating Sima Ladjevardian in 2020 with 55.6% of the vote; Robin Fulford in 2022 with nearly two-thirds of the vote; and Peter Filler in 2024 by securing almost two-thirds support from voters.
