Representative Dan Crenshaw, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives for Texas’s 2nd congressional district, addressed recent events and community issues in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) this week.
On September 16, 2025, Crenshaw commented on reactions to a recent assassination, stating, “It’s a fallen world where so many people feel comfortable celebrating the assassination of a husband and father that came from nothing and achieved the American Dream. They support murderers and criminals and celebrate violence against someone they’ve never even met. It’s a sick”.
The following day, September 17, he posted about an incident in his home state: “This happened in a Houston grocery store.”
Later on September 17, Crenshaw highlighted Grant Irons’ achievements and upcoming appearance at an event for young leaders: “From Woodlands High School to the NFL, Grant Irons built his career on discipline, grit, and performance. Really excited for him to share his message with the next generation at the Summit for Emerging American Leaders. Limited seats remaining:”
Crenshaw has represented Texas’s 2nd district since first winning election in 2018. He secured re-election in subsequent cycles by significant margins—defeating Todd Litton in 2018 with 52.8% of the vote; Sima Ladjevardian in 2020 with 55.6%; Robin Fulford in 2022 with 65.9%; and Peter Filler in 2024 with 65.7%. These results reflect consistent support within his district over multiple election cycles.
