Representative Dan Crenshaw, a U.S. Congressman who has secured multiple electoral victories since 2018, posted several statements on social media addressing immigration enforcement, philosophical perspectives on rights and responsibilities, and the significance of Labor Day.
On August 31, 2025, Crenshaw questioned the impact of federal immigration authorities on voter participation in Los Angeles. He wrote: “Why would the presence of IMMIGRATION and Customs Enforcement chill voting in Los Angeles? Say the quiet part out loud Gavin.”
Later that day, Crenshaw referenced conservative philosopher Russell Kirk in a post about freedom and responsibility. On September 1, 2025—Labor Day—Crenshaw highlighted American workers’ resilience while invoking former President Ronald Reagan’s views. His statement read: “Labor Day: recognizing the grit, resilience, and unmatched productivity of the American worker. Crenshaw represents Texas’s 2nd congressional district and has consistently won re-election since first defeating Todd Litton in 2018 with just over half of the vote. In subsequent elections he increased his margin against Democratic challengers Sima Ladjevardian (2020), Robin Fulford (2022), and Peter Filler (2024), each time securing more than 55% of votes cast.
