Representative Dan Crenshaw, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives who has secured re-election multiple times since 2018, shared a series of posts on his social media account addressing government power, military branding, and anti-corruption efforts in Mexico.
On September 7, 2025, Crenshaw commented on the relationship between governments and individual rights, stating: “See the trend? Every regime that claimed to grant rights also believed it had the power to revoke them. They all had one thing in common: Government as god.”
The following day, September 8, he addressed ongoing discussions about renaming the Department of Defense (DoD) to the Department of War. Crenshaw wrote: “So far the biggest argument against renaming the DoD as the Department of War is that it will require a LOT of logo changes. Ok, fine. Still for it. President Trump and Secretary Hegseth promised us a military focused on lethality above all else. So branding actually matters,” referencing previous statements from former President Donald Trump and former Army officer Pete Hegseth regarding military priorities.
Later on September 8, Crenshaw responded to developments related to anti-corruption measures in Mexico: “Good. This means we are finally seeing Mexico take corruption seriously. Too many will see this story as bad news, proof that any efforts in Mexico are a waste of time because of endemic corruption. But that’s overly simplistic. This is good news, given how rare it is for high”.
Crenshaw’s recent comments come after his successful re-election campaigns over several election cycles: In 2024 he defeated Peter Filler with nearly two-thirds of the vote; in 2022 he prevailed over Robin Fulford; in 2020 he won against Sima Ladjevardian; and in 2018 he was elected after defeating Todd Litton.
