Rep. Dan Crenshaw, who represents Texas’s 2nd congressional district in the U.S. Congress, recently commented on cartel activity in Mexico and shared updates through his social media posts.

On July 25, 2025, Crenshaw posted: “Extortion is one of the main profit generators of the cartels in Mexico. They terrorize their own population and then use the profits to support the drug trafficking that kills thousands of Americans. Good to see this kind of crackdown by Mexican authorities. https://t.co/jlFEcyM9KQ”

Crenshaw has served as a member of Congress for Texas’s 2nd District since 2019, succeeding Ted Poe. He was born in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1984 and currently resides in Humble, Texas. He earned his undergraduate degree from Tufts University in 2006.
