Wesley Hunt, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’s 38th District since 2023, recently shared a series of tweets through his press office that address various national issues and political perspectives.

On June 3, 2025, Hunt highlighted a connection between the Boulder Colorado terrorist attack and the city’s status as a sanctuary city. He stated, “1 Month before the Boulder Colorado Terrorist attack the city was declared a sanctuary city.” He further mentioned President Trump’s actions on federal immigration laws: “President Trump has signed multiple EO’s and directed the AG to prosecute anyone who refuses to follow federal immigration laws!”

In another tweet posted shortly after, Hunt addressed what he perceives as misleading narratives from news outlets. He wrote that “WH Press Sec. lays out the evidence of news headlines pushing false narratives which they have REPEATEDLY been forced to take down!” Adding that this contributes to what he sees as a decline in legacy media: “Legacy media is dying for this very reason.”

Hunt also commented on charges related to hate crimes following an antisemitic attack in Boulder. In his post from June 3, he expressed concerns about national security and political rhetoric by stating, “BREAKING: Boulder terrorist charged with HATE CRIMES after a brutal antisemitic attack!” He attributed these incidents partly to current policies and rhetoric: “Biden’s open borders and the radical left’s anti-Israel rhetoric are fueling this terror.” Furthermore, he emphasized urgency by saying: “Jewish Americans are under siege—and the threat must be stopped NOW.”

Hunt was born in Houston, Texas in 1981 and currently resides there.
